Crews drill in preparation for rock blasting in the utility trench north of Olive Boulevard.
The event will be held on the north end of the project, south of Olive and just east of Wood Chase Plaza. Parking for the event will be available right next to the groundbreaking location.
The $44.5 million American Recovery and Reinvestment Act project will move Route 141 further to the east between Ladue Road and Olive Boulevard, raising the roadway out of the flood plain and improving the traffic flow. It will connect with a St. Louis County project, the Page-Olive Connector, at Olive. In addition, Fred Weber will be completing a $10 million Metropolitan Sewer District upgrade along the Route 141 project.
Work on the project should start in late March and should be finished by summer 2012.
