It's been a tough week for me because I have to sadly report that my Fantasy Football team has been eliminated from the league with all Cardinal players. Skip Schumaker and I went in together on a team and we by far had the best team on paper in the league. That's probably why this loss was so hard to take! Phillip Rivers, D'Angelo Williams, St. Louis' own Steven Jackson, Greg Jennings, Jason Witten, and Wes Welker. Yea, I know... How could we lose!? John Smoltz's team eliminated us and we honestly just played bad. Nonetheless it was probably the most fun I've had in any league to date. Now that we are out of the running, I tab Joel Pineiro's team as the favorite because he has the "monster" Chris Johnson who singlehandily has been carrying his team all year. Well done JP!
I'll still be following the NFL very closely as the year winds down. Praise God for the NFL Sunday Ticket now that I think of it. One of the many joys of a rainy winter in Seattle is a ton of couch time and sports. Fantasy Basketball is actually my true passion and I'm currently in two leagues as we speak. Basketball was my favorite sport growing up so I watch a ton of NBA. It lessens the pain of my recent defeat knowing that I still have two leagues to dominate in! I'd love to be on a sports talk radio show when I retire so whoever is reading keep me in mind... lol.
I am thinking of doing an email Q&A for my next blog entry so feel free to email any questions that you want answered to B.J. Rains at bjrains@globe-democrat.com and he will get those to me.
I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas if I don't talk to you before then, and I look forward to seeing some of you at the Cardinals Winter Warm-Up in January.

Blake, I dont play fantasy football, BUT I sure do with baseball, MLB has a a league where you play head to head, you have a pitching team not pitchers.
And last year I had the Cards as well as Boston on my second team. Guess which team went all the way thru the playoffs, yeo the Cards...
This year, I will prerank the Cards as number 1 hoping I get them in the draft. I was constantly changing my bench, and I picked up Colby just as he got hot. he really helped me alot. But as he cooled down I had to bench him. Same for Luddy, and I hated doing that. However I had Holliday on Both teams and even while playing with the A.s I hung with him KNOWING he would come around. I did bench him up untill the trade rumors started, and put him back in on both teams the rest of the year. Dont need to say anymore on that.
Have great spring, and and Hollidays,. Lookfoward to seeing you on the mound this year
